Fairview Health Services Nursing Assistant Ortho Spine in Burnsville, Minnesota
Fairview Ridges Hospital is a 150 bed facility and is located in Burnsville, MN. The Ortho Spine Surgical unit is looking for an Nursing Assistant (NA) to support their 26 bed unit. This unit cares for adult orthopedics, spine, total joint replacements, general surgery and post-surgical recovery patients.

About this position:
This position works 24 hours every two weeks, with an opportunity to pick up additional shifts
8 hour shifts, on the evening shift
Working every other weekendFriday, Saturday and Sunday
The Nursing Assistant (NA) is responsible for assisting the nurse in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and the reordering and stocking of supplies. The Nursing Assistant does not work autonomously but works under the direction of a professional nurse. May be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager/charge nurse.
The NA will:
Provides basic patient care, i.e. activities of daily living, positioning, ambulating, answering call lights
Assists RN in monitoring patient condition by accurately taking vital signs, recording weights, measuring input/output, and recording oxygen saturation levels.
Reports unusual finding to the RN in a timely manner
Transports patients, equipment, and supplies
Prepares rooms for admissions
Stocks supplies, organizes patient/unit areas, and cleans equipment

Requires previous experience as a Nursing Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant OR currently a nursing student with at least 1 semester of nursing clinicals completed.
BLS for healthcare providers
Strongly prefer Nursing Assistant training and 1 year of hospital based Nursing Assistant experience.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a diverse patient population, multi-tasking abilities, excellent customer service, communication and teamwork skills
