Responsibilities/Job Description

The Nursing Station Technician (NST) supporting the Pediatric Units at Fairview Ridges Hospital (Burnsville, MN) works under the direction of nursing personnel (RN and LPN’s) to provide patient cares while functioning as a nursing assistant and a health unit coordinator. The NST assumes delegated responsibilities as appropriate, and adheres to all relevant policies, procedures and practice guidelines. Duties may include; patient cares, turning, vitals, bathing, feeding, answering call lights, transporting, stocking/cleaning/maintaining rooms, and use of equipment, phones, clerical duties, transcription, and coordinates the flow of communication on the unit. Works as patient care attendant, as needed.

Qualifications

You will be required to:

Have previous Health Unit Coordinator, Nursing Assistant, or Nursing Station Technician experience or equivalent or related experience.

Have knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, and hospital procedures.

Have current Basic Life Support Certification through American Heart or American Red Cross.

Have strong customer service, phone, and interpersonal communication skills, computer skills, and ability to work with diverse patient population.

We prefer if you:

Have current Nursing Assistant related experience

Vocational/Technical College or Associate degree
