M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for an LPN at the Colon & Rectal Surgery Department at the M Health Fairview Specialty Clinic located in Edina, MN. Join M Health Fairview, the largest healthcare system in the state! The M Health Fairview Specialty Clinic - Edina is a growing and collaborative clinic. This department offers a unique opportunity to learn about surgical procedures in an outpatient setting. This offers a lucrative daytime schedule - no evenings, weekends or holidays. The position will learn the basics of supporting multiple specialties but primary how to support colon and rectal surgery.

Clinic hours are 7AM to 5PM Monday - Friday, so no evenings, weekends, or holidays! This provides an excellent work life balance!

This is a 0.8 FTE (64 Hours Per Two Week Pay Period), benefits-eligible opening.

Responsibilities Job Description

The LPN performs delegated nursing and medical functions of data collection and delivery of care to an assigned group of patients, or individualized patient. The LPN works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, or physician/practitioner and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. The LPN is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures, and nursing practice guidelines.

Collects data for patient assessments.

  • Involves the patient, their support network, and other health team members in collecting relevant data.

  • Reports unusual data or changes in patient's condition to the RN, or physician/authorized practitioner in a timely manner.

Delivers care as delegated by the RN or physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient(s) population, or individual patient.

  • Follows the patient’s plan of care.

  • Prioritizes work based on patient acuity, available resources, and patient/support network preferences, in collaboration with other care team members

  • Performs high and low risk technical procedures, including medications, defined by the clinical setting.

  • Recognizes when different approaches may be needed based on age or cultural differences.

  • Implements assigned aspects of the patient's teaching plan.

  • Effectively communicates compliance and concerns to delegating RN or authorized practitioner.

  • Takes action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patients.

  • Responds appropriately to emergent situations.

Communicates successfully with all members of the health care team.

  • Communicates verbal and written information in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner.

Qualifications

Required

  • Vocational/Technical Training/ Associates Degree

  • Current MN LPN License

Preferred

  • One to three years

  • Previous ambulatory Care experience.

  • Current BLS Certification
