Fairview Health Services Casual Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapy in Golden Valley, Minnesota

Overview

Come join our Rehab Flexible Work Force team! We are seeking an outpatient occupational therapist to provide hand therapy services with M Health Fairview Rehab! Preferred candidate will be a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). Where CHT is not completed, M Health Fairview offers mentoring and development opportunities for professional growth.

  • Casual position, authorized to work up to 40 hours in a given week.

M Health Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.

Rehab’s continuing education program offers 40+ continuing education courses per year, including many at no cost to employees.

Responsibilities Job Description

The hand therapist partners with the patient and their care providers while performing evaluation/re-evaluation

Gathers and applies pertinent data, performs examination, and resolves treatment diagnosis

Develops an individualized plan of care through coordination

Analyzes data to identify needs and potential risks, settles prognosis for recovery, and establishes individualized goals

Implements and modifies care plan based on reassessment and patient response

Coordinates care and communicates successfully with interdisciplinary team for all aspects care & establishes appropriate discharge plan

Partners care team to provide skilled intervention

Implements and alters treatment to reflect change in patient status and response to treatment

Assesses patient and/or caregiver learning needs and provides appropriate education

Professional Expectations

Prioritizes tasks and care for time management and accommodations

Understands and follows professional licensure/certification requirements

Advises team members and/or supervises students as designated

Pursues personal and professional development to support clinical standard processes

Qualifications

Required

Occupational Therapy Licensure in State of Minnesota or temporary license

Active Basic Life Support Certification

Preferred

Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy

1+ years as CHT

Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) Credential from the Hand Therapy Certification Commission

MN License including certification to practice of physical modalities NBCOT
