Fairview Health Services Hospice Chaplain in Hibbing, Minnesota

Fairview Range is hiring a Hospice Chaplain for our Home Care and Hospice Department in Hibbing, MN .

We consider it an honor to provide care for our patients and their families and serve communities across the Iron Range. The Chaplain provides direct service to hospice clients and families addressing spirituality and related concerns. The Chaplain gives input on spiritual care to the hospice staff and the interdisciplinary teams and assists the Hospice Supervisor and Bereavement Coordinator with the Hospice Bereavement Program. Fairview Range Hospice provides care to clients living in a 40 mile radius from Hibbing, MN. The chaplains main responsibility is providing visits in the clients home.

Schedule: This position will work 0 to 39 hours per two weeks. The shift length varies depending on hospice volumes and number of hospice clients desiring chaplain services. Weekend visits are not required.

As a Hospice Chaplain, you are responsible for:

  • Reviewing or completing spiritual assessments ensuring religious preferences and/or spiritual beliefs have been discussed.

  • Acting as an active team member in the patient/family hospice experience.

  • Demonstrating the ability to optimally provide spiritual support to hospice teams, patients, and families.

  • Knowledge of cultural dying practices/rituals of all cultures served.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year experience as a pastor or chaplain or related field.

  • Previous or current experience in hospice care preferred.

  • Must have a current Minnesota driver's license, along with current automobile insurance and reliable transportation.
