Fairview Health Services Manager of Women's Health and Birth Center in Hibbing, Minnesota

Overview

Fairview Range is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Women’s Health and Birth Center (WHBC) in Hibbing, MN. Our WHBC offers private suites to bring the comforts of home to your birth experience while caring for you with the very latest in medical technology. All RNs within the unit are trained to Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, and lactation support. Some RNs on the unit are Certified Lactation Consultants. We offer inpatient and outpatient lactation support services through IBCLC, CLC, and lactation trained RNs and LPNs.

The Manager is responsible for 24 hour a day management responsibility and accountability for nursing care delivery, human resources, operation, financial, and quality improvement for the Women's Health and Birth Center. This position is 80 hours per two weeks, 8-hour Day shifts.

About this unit:

  • 10 beds, including 4 labor and deliver suites

  • More than 300 baby deliveries annually

  • IBCLC trained staff within department

  • Care team includes OB Physicians, Maternal Fetal Medicine Physicians, Family Practice Physicians, Certified Midwives, CRNAs, RNs, LPNs.

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Utilizes a value-based method when recruiting, interviewing, and selecting qualified employees.

  • Participates in formal retention and recognition activities.

  • Develops position descriptions/evaluations/essential functions for all job categories utilizing staff input.

  • Develops and implements department specific orientation / education / competency programs.

  • Communicates clear, concise expectations and demonstrates accountability for employee performance by coaching, mentoring, and initiating disciplinary action when appropriate.

  • Promotes and role models teamwork and positive working relationships.

  • Establishes and maintains current policies and procedures for the department.

  • Fosters a collaborative and positive working relationship with the interdisciplinary team members providing patient care in the Women’s Health and Birth Center.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Registered Nurse with Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or willing to obtain Bachelor’s Degree within 2 years of hire.

  • Minimum of three years OB experience.

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota.

  • Certification in nursing specialty or obtain within 1 year of hire.

  • Current BLS, NRP, and ACLS or obtains ACLS within 6 months of hire.

  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring.

Preferred:

  • Five years of OB experience.

  • Two years of management/leadership experience.

  • Master’s Degree.

  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring.

Vaccination Update
