Fairview Health Services Registered Nurse (RN), Acute Care, ICU in Hibbing, Minnesota

Fairview Range is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intensive Care unit in Hibbing, MN.

The RN will deliver direct nursing care to patients as well as indirect care, and also is responsible for unit operations for a shift when functioning as charge nurse. The Registered Nurse (RN) works alongside our Hospitalists to provide life-saving treatment to patients who are critically ill or injured. The ICU is adjacent to our Acute Care unit, treating medical/surgical/pediatric patients. Each patient room is equipped with telemed capabilities.

Schedule: This position will work 48-60 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 12-hours working on the day and night shifts, with undesignated weekends.

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing a total systems assessment according to established policies (including physical, psychosocial and spiritual data) upon admission, as well as ongoing assessments.

  • Analyzing assessment data, identifying problems and developing the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, significant other and resource personnel.

  • Providing age specific direct patient care in collaboration with all subject areas according to standards of care.

Required Qualifications

  • Current ICU experience

  • Current Minnesota RN licensure

  • Current BLS certification and maintains certification. Current ACLS and BCS or acquires within 3 months of employment and maintains certification. Current PALS or acquires within 6 months and maintains certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent Critical Care or Emergency nursing experience, current pediatric experience, current charge experience.

  • Critical Care experience within the last 3 years.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

If no applicants meet the qualifications, consideration will be given to those with 2 years of medical/surgical experience. A preference will be given to those who have current BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
