Fairview Health Services is hiring a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room at our Fairview Maple Grove Ambulatory Surgery Center in Maple Grove, MN .

We are seeking a Certified S urgical T echnologist to support our Ambulatory Surgery Center as a scrub person during surgical procedures for ages 6 months through geriatric. The Surgical Technologist will collaborate with the RN and Surgeon by adhering to standards of nursing practice and patient care, correct use of supplies/equipment, and maintenance of the surgical suite under the direction of a RN. Cases will include but not limited to Ortho, GYN, Endo, ENT, Urology, GI, Plastics, General, and other outpatient surgeries.
Schedule: This position will be working 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the day shift, Monday - Friday, no holidays, or weekends at this time.

Responsibilities Job Description
As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for:
Excellent customer service
Adapting to an ever-changing environment and covering multiple areas in the department
The ability to problem solve effectively using critical thinking skills
Strong communication skills
Serving as scrub person during operative procedures
Assisting the physician and nurse before, during, and after Endoscopy procedures, Endoscopy turnover, and scope cleaning
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Complete one of the following by hire date:
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
Military Surgical Assistant; OR
LPN (licensed in MN) Surgical Assistant
2 years experience as a Surgical Technologist
Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers (or ability to obtain by hire date)
Be available to work Monday - Friday, day shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire
Certification as Surgical Technologist
Other Required Skills:
Knowledge of physical, psychosocial, and cognitive developmental needs of population served.
Knowledge of age-appropriate outcomes and interventions.
Desired Skills:
Demonstrate the ability to work under stress in a variety of situations.
Ability to work well under a team environment.
