Overview

M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist at the Imaging Center located in Maplewood, MN.

Position details:

1.0 FTE - (80 hours worked per 2 weeks)

Typical schedule is day/evening shifts including rotating weekends

Responsibilities Job Description

Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomes

  • Performs excellent patient care

  • Performs examinations

  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately

  • Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs.

  • Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional.

  • Participates in crafting a culture of patient safety.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness.

  • Verify patient identification and documentation.

  • Connect with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam.

  • Achieves quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.

Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures

  • Ensures patient data integrity

  • Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures.

  • Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes.

  • Follows infection control guidelines

  • Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members.

  • Responds appropriately to emergent situations.

  • Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving.

  • Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances.

  • Acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution.

  • Completed all require continuing education to uphold their imaging licensure.

Participates as an active team member

  • Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives.

  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position.

  • Cleans and maintains room and supplies

  • Provides coordinated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care and contributes to a positive work environment.

Accurately operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines

  • Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working accurately.

  • Maintains a high level of proficiency

  • Accepts new technology as it’s introduced into the facility and participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations.

Qualifications

Required:

Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

Basic Life Support (BLS) - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before hire date

Preferred:

1 or years of experience in a related role

Additional certifications in Imaging
