Responsibilities/Job Description

Provides patient care to clients in ambulatory setting and clinic settings. Works closely with pulmonary physicians by providing monitoring and sedation for diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures. Provides patient support in the clinic setting in the nurse navigator role. Responsible for delivery of quality patient care in accordance with established standards of practice.

  • Utilizes nursing process by: planning, implementing and evaluating care given to assigned patients.

  • Assists physicians with bronchoscopy procedures including sedation and monitoring, and occasional admission/discharging of outpatients.

  • Provides occasional pre and post procedural recovery care for patients in the procedural suite.

  • Documents and reports patient progress in a clear concise manner accurately reflecting patient response and outcome.

  • Collaborates with patient/family to prioritize patient needs, problems and goals; intervenes or refers as appropriate.

  • Monitors, trends and records patient response to disease, illness and treatment.

  • Applies specialized expertise to solve problems, generate ideas, plan care, teach and create new services.

  • Anticipates future needs of the patient and educates or refers to appropriate sources. Ensures patient's understanding of educational resources.

  • Tracks appointments and referrals including support services and communicates to clinics and primary care about services and patient needs.

  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.

  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.

  • Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.



  • 2 years critical care experience including experience including providing conscious sedation

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing

  • Current RN License

  • Basic Life Support

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support


  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
