Fairview Health Services Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

The Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) is a member of the interdisciplinary team on the inpatient pediatric mental health unit. The primary function of the BCBA on the team is to plan, develop and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of individual patients. The BCBA will also serve to educate members of the team, at every level, on the principals of applied behavioral analysis and their implementation in an inpatient setting. The BCBA will provide support to individuals, families and staff by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, and Functional Behavioral Assessment.

Responsibilities Job Description

  • Conduct behavioral evaluations and assessments.

  • In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, and behavioral support plans.

  • Consult with and teach pro-active strategies and behavioral interventions to the treatment team.

  • Engage in individual treatment with patients on an as-needed basis, per recommendations by the treatment team.

  • Attend family meetings for each patient in order to promote communication with families and collateral supports, and to promote skill transfer into the home environment.

  • Provide Behavioral Management group treatment

Qualifications

Required Education

Master’s or Doctoral Applied Behavioral Analysis conferred by an accredited program, or otherwise meet the BACB eligibility requirements to become a BCBA.

Experience

• Two or more years’ experience working with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders with a demonstrated understanding of the principals of behavioral management preferred.

• Experience in working with children and families required

License/Certification/Registration

• Certified by the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board as a BCBA

• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
