The Business Intelligence System Administrator is responsible for enterprise wide business intelligence systems. Responsibilities include installation, configuration and upgrading business intelligence systems. The BI System Administrator partners with other teams in Information Technology to deliver analytic solutions and capabilities to the enterprise.
The Analytics and Data Technologies team(s) are focused on ensuring that standard, high-quality data is available for analysis across our healthcare organization. This includes exploratory analysis of large data sets, data quality metrics identification, report creation, and development and maintenance of automation that makes data readily available to be used in analysis. This role will broadly influence the organization’s data delivery, operational effectiveness and elevate the role of data as an asset to the business. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for data analysis, who loves to build usable/consumable data visualizations and who has a demonstrated knowledge of solid SQL and strong communication and teamwork skills.
Must be a passionate technologist with proven history of technical mastery and complex problem solving, along with strong written and verbal communication skills to influence others. We are seeking someone with demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities, ability to work collaboratively across functions, and who has strong healthcare IT relevant industry experience in data and analytics report development.
As part of the Data Platforms solutions team:
Stay current with new technologies and industry best practices to leverage the assessment, design, testing, implementation and support of new and existing solutions.
Provide expertise on assigned domains or assigned assets (to include interrelationships with other systems, applications and technology) to identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and improve processes.
Work with the business and across technology to analyze business requirements then manage the design or redesign of complex integration solutions.
Advise on viability and feasibility of alternative approaches.
Administer servers and applications that are related to analytic capabilities and solutions, including but not limited to SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Power BI and Qliktech QlikView.
Installs, configures and upgrades business intelligence systems in production, development and test environments.
Maintains patch levels.
Creates and maintains security groups and user access, as well as general security rules.
Deploys analytic solutions and reports to test and production environments.
Monitors system performance and availability and leads and resolves issues when identified.
Gathers and provides usage metrics.
Develop and maintain technical documentation for the business intelligence systems and associated processes.
Maintains a library of BI and analytic assets, including reports, dashboards, data sources and semantic layers.
Partners with Information Technology based Analytic and ETL Developers in the design and development of solutions.
Provides Tier 1 customer support and problem resolution in a timely and professional manner.
Provides on-call production support.
Ensure that the analytic platforms meet Service Level Agreements.
Utilizes automated and repeatable processes to administer multiple instances of platforms.
Work closely with cloud management and data engineering teams to provide support for the Business Intelligence platforms.
Specific to the role on the team:
Designs and builds relational databases.
Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.
Works in a data warehouse environment, which includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation.
Translates business needs into long-term architecture solutions.
Defines, designs, and builds dimensional databases.
Evaluates reusability of current data for additional analyses.
Integrate, transform, validate and reconcile large amounts of data.
Assist with the data report requirements for archiving systems.
Assemble and evaluate data such that new insights, solutions, and visualizations can be derived.
Perform data discoveries to understand data formats, source systems, file sizes, etc. and engage with business partners in this discovery process.
Drive critical decision making by conducting various type of descriptive statistics and data quality analyses.
Identify trends / data quality issues / anomalies across large data sets, particularly in the area of machine data, and other agronomic management practices.
Communicate data quality and data completeness to key partners.
Deliver results in a timely and efficient manner.
Perform data analysis and required discovery to build requirements and specification documentation.
Show strong written, communication and collaborative skills.
Be passion for data analysis.
Experience working with multiple reporting and analytic tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, Crystal Reports, Webi, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, Qlikview, Power BI, etc.
Strong desire to improve data quality.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is required or a minimum of four years on the job experience
5+ years of experience with data analysis and/or report writing.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and quality.
Excellent technical and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to effectively manage and organize multiple projects and responsibilities.
SQL(PL/SQL or T-SQL) and report programming experience is required.
Strong quantitative and analytic skills.
3+ years RDMS architectural experience.
3+ years experience building and maintaining semantic layers, (e.g. Universes, Cubes, Datasets).
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and business terms.
Excellent logical, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
Experience within the Healthcare industry preferred
