Fairview Health Services Child Care Teacher in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Opened in 2020, the Pillars of Prospect Park is conveniently located off the light rail transit station and close to the metro bus near the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, MN. This senior living community features 133 Independent living, 106 assisted living and 44 memory care apartments. Two buildings, make up this vibrant community and also encompasses an on-site Intergenerational Child Care Center. We are looking for a Child Care Teache r to support Ebenezer’s Intergenerational childcare program by caring for our children in their assigned age group and providing supervisor for assistant teachers and aides. Our Early Education Teacher will lead, plan and organize age appropriate activities to ensure the program provides the highest quality childcare available.

  • Casual/on-call

  • 3 shifts a month

Implementing developmentally age appropriate curriculum.

Develop and implementing weekly lesson plans

Assessing each child's development and administer Parent/Teacher conferences twice per year

Maintain a child friendly and orderly classroom

Implementing effective guidance and support strategies

Connect with parents on child development issues, policies and other concerns related to their children

Report any concerns to the director regarding staff or classroom issues

Maintains confidentiality of records and information of staff and families

Participates in program areas such as intergenerational activities

Supervise heath, safety and overall wellbeing of the children at all times

Maintain certification in Pediatric First Aid, CPR, SUIDS/AHT

Minimum Qualifications

High school Diploma/GED - Child Development or Teacher qualified under Minnesota Rule 9503.0032

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

1-2 years’ experience working with young children

Ability to lift 40lbs.

CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification
