Fairview Health Services Inventory Specialist I in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Fairview Health Services is looking for an Inventory Specialist at University of Minnesota Medical Center (East Bank) in Minneapolis, MN.The Fairview Supply Chain team focuses on the effective and efficient use of resources to deliver the right product, in the right quantity, at the right time, to the right place, for the right price.
This position is 80 hours per two week pay period on the day shift and is benefit eligible.
Manage/direct the adjustment of inventory levels of stock and nonstock supplies/equipment throughout the site (to include, but not limited to all patient care areas, surgery, ancillary departments, related clinics).
Make independent judgments and decisions based on analyzing and monitoring inventory levels to authorize volume purchases regarding inventory levels.
Consider labor and acquisition costs in determining appropriate par levels for cost efficient inventory management.
Establish parameters for equipment levels including rental guidelines.
Maintain, verify and update the receiving and distribution records and supplies.
Provide communication to all departments regarding changes and updates relating to product descriptions, number, units of measure, stock additions and deletions, and inventory exceptions to supply pathway/procedure pack configurations.
Provide strong leadership in guiding and supporting department managers in appropriate inventory control to manage costs and meet department fluctuations.
Works directly with vendors, suppliers, corporate materials, and department directors and managers.
Serve as subject matter expert on Materials Management Information System (MMIS).
Recommend process improvements to customers and superiors.
- 1 year inventory management or 2 years in healthcare working with medical products
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Nursing or Related field
- 2 years inventory management in healthcare
- American Production and Inventory Control Society, Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional, Lean, Value Analysis
