Fairview Health Services RN Medical Oncology (Weekends Only) in Minneapolis, Minnesota


The University of Minnesota Medical Center's Medical Oncology unit is hiring an RN to work the weekends!

The RN on the Medical Oncology unit will help adult patients with hematologic and oncologic malignancies. Services include chemotherapy and blood administration. Bed capacity: 27. Manages complex medication and infusion therapies. Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit.

This position is working 16-24 hours every two weeks, on the day/evening shift, working 8 hour shifts and works every other weekend.

Responsibilities/Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.



  • MN RN License

  • BLS required

  • AD required


  • BSN or higher preferred

  • Certification in related specialty is highly desired

  • One year current oncology experience is preferred

  • One year of current medical/surgical RN experience in a hospital setting is desired
