The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for providing thought leadership and strategic marketing counsel for assigned priority business areas/service lines. The role develops, oversees the implementation of, and evaluates the performance of marketing plans that lead to measurable business results. The senior marketing manager serves strategic business needs, and is a trusted and influential marketing consultant to business partners. It is also a highly collaborative role with internal marketing teams as well as a multitude of cross-departmental partners and suppliers.Uses broad knowledge and experience in marketing, digital marketing, communications and brand strategy to develop effective marketing campaigns and oversee their successful completion, as directed by Director of Marketing along with business leadership.

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Gains insight into key external audiences, market dynamics, competitive landscape and environmental trends in order to assess needs

  • Builds clear understanding of business strategies, challenges and areas of focus

  • Develops, presents and implements marketing plans for assigned practice areas/business endeavors to achieve business objectives—to improve customer awareness, impression, use/acquisition, preference, and ultimately long-term loyalty and advocacy

  • Provides expert marketing counsel, generates original ideas, and presents convincing business cases and rationales for recommended approaches

  • Oversees successful execution and performance measurement of promotional programs including integrated campaigns, new product/service launches, advertising, direct marketing, media relations, web content, landing pages, events, collateral, sponsorships, social media

  • Oversees programs that enhance patient experience and fosters patient engagement through clear and consistent messaging and branding in on-site patient-facing communications, such as signage/displays, posters, patient materials and digital displays

  • Regularly keeps clients apprised of progress against plans through consistently delivered status reports/performance dashboards

  • Applies allocated marketing budgets to marketing tactics; manages budgets throughout the year

  • Defines market research and analysis needs; seeks to close insights gaps through secondary and primary research sources

  • Ensures content/messaging is relevant and impactful to audiences, as well as accurate, clear, and backed up by validating information

  • Acts as business partner liaison and relationship manager for practice area and business unit leadership; regularly works with the most senior leaders within service lines and business units

  • Partners/collaborates with outreach, business development, corporate communications, Foundations, product development, media relations, patient education, and compliance/legal

  • Defines, tracks and reports on program success metrics and measurement; applies learnings to planning; defines and executes course corrections

  • Develops clear, focused Strategic & Project (creative) Briefs to provide effective direction for internal teams to deliver on-target solutions

  • Provides leadership in team collaboration efforts, such as continuous improvement, employee engagement and other ad hoc endeavors



Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training in marketing, communication or healthcare.

Experience: 8+ years experience in progressively responsible marketing or marketing communication roles.


Education: Master's degree in business, integrated marketing, business communications or healthcare administration

Experience: Healthcare provider/care delivery marketing experinece; maketing planning and/or client service experience

CRM Experience, preferably Salesforce
