M Health Fairview has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Patient Regsitration function at the M Health Fairview Oakdale Clinic located in Oakdale, MN. Join M Health Fairview, the largest healthcare system in the state!

Clinic hours are Monday - Thursday 7AM - 6PM and Friday 7AM - 5PM, eight hour shifts. Start times could be as early at 6:30AM, Monday - Friday. So no evenings, weekends, or holidays! This provides an excellent work life balance!

This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period), benefits-eligible opening.

Responsibilities Job Description

The Lead Clinic Patient Representative is responsible for supporting and assisting management in the effective operations of theconcierge team. This person is responsible for having in depth knowledge of all patient representative workflows in alignmentwith system and site specific expectations, such as warmly welcoming visitors to the facility, scheduling ad hoc appointments, verifying insurance and demographic information, collecting copayments from patients, and accurately entering data into the practice management system. This individual also supports department leadership with employee training, developing and updating department workflows and partnering with internal and external customers to improve processes.

Core Competencies:

Greets patients in a respectful manner and assesses for special needs and/or accommodations. Keeps patients informed of patient flow delays.

Completes patient registration process.

Verifies patient demographic and insurance information.

Verifies insurance eligibility via online access.

Initiates process to establish company accounts for worker’s compensation patients.

Makes any necessary changes to account maintenance module.

Collects co-pay and prepares receipt and deposit.

Verifies and updates necessary forms for patient signature.

Complete preparation of charts.

Directs patient to waiting room and notifies patient care staff of arrival.

Identifies restriction codes and refers patient appropriately.

Schedules and maintains patient appointments.

Effectively uses communication systems for both routine and emergency transactions.

Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

Communicates effectively with patients and their family members, coworkers, and external customers.

Qualifications

Required

Education:

High School Diploma/G.E.D.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years in a patient representative role, or commensurate experience.

Preferred

Education: Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree

Additional Requirements:

Excellent public relations and communication skills

Good telephone and computer skills

Must be flexible

Must be efficient

Willingness to work at other sites preferred. Knowledge of third party party payors preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations
