Fairview Health Services Emergency Vehicle Technician in Saint Paul, Minnesota

M Health Fairview (Fairview Medical Transportation) has been successfully meeting the needs of our community for more than 134 years. Our headquarters facility, located in St. Paul, was built in 2010 in partnership with the St. Paul Port Authority. We support our community by providing more than 60,000 calls annually using our innovative equipment. Our ambulance teams are staffed by some of the most expert Paramedics and EMTs in the region, helping to make M Health Fairview a leader in Minnesota for emergency and non-emergency ambulance service.

Do you want to work with an outstanding team? We are now seeking a full-time Emergency Vehicle Technician to perform installation and repair to customer agency vehicles per Fairview and/or manufacturer's guidelines.

Full-time, 80 hours per two weeks

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM. No weekends!

Responsibilities Job Description

Job Expectations:

  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.

  • Manages the needs for the building of emergency services vehicles including lights, sirens, rear seating area caging, gun mounts and any other equipment.

  • Determines the serviceability of components removed from cars to determine usability in new vehicle installation.

  • Coordinates the timely strip out and installation of equipment into new vehicles.

  • Repairs necessary equipment for emergency service vehicles.

  • Provides mechanic support and assistance to maintain the HealthEast Medical Transportation fleet of vehicles.

Qualifications

Required

Experience

  • 2 years of automotive experience required

  • or vocational/technical training in Automotive/Vehicle Repair

License/Certification/Registration

  • Valid driver’s license and DMV record that meets the insurability requirements

Preferred

License/Certification/Registration

  • Certified Automotive Tech (ASE-Certified)

Additional Requirements (must be obtained or completed within a period of time) :

  • Knowledge of electrical systems and add-on vehicle components including the ability to read electrical schematics.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to safely lift, push, pull and/or carry 100 pounds.

  • Knowledge of aftermarket equipment installs, and maintenance preferred.

  • Previous experience working with Ford products preferred.
