Fairview Health Services Staff Chaplain - Hospice in Saint Paul, Minnesota
Responsible for coordination of Spiritual Care services for assigned site or area(s) in accordance with the HealthEast Mission and department philosophy, policies, and goals. Participates in planning activities of assigned areas. Provides Spiritual Care services that meet established guidelines for quality and effectiveness; participates in community service and mission identification activities.
Provides direct spiritual care to patients and families based on assessment of spiritual needs in assigned clinical areas during assigned shifts of work.
Shares monthly overnight and weekend on-call work as scheduled.
Demonstrates ongoing ability to provide care and service to diverse populations including developmental, cultural, and religious differences.
Collaborates with community clergy and spiritual leaders in all faith groups in relation with Spiritual care and community health.
Provides spiritual support and education to professional staff members.
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served: -Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making. -Communicates in a respective manner. -Ensures a safe, secure environment. -Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs. o Modifies clinical interventions based on population served. o Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver
Fulfills all organizational requirements -Completes all required learning relevant to the role -Complies with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures and standards.

Performs other duties as assigned.
3 years of work experience preferred as a chaplain.
Master of Divinity degree, Master of Arts in Theology/ Religious Studies degree or Master degree level of education from an approved theological seminary or religious studies program.
Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent certified clinical education experience in accredited ACPE program. Board Certified or eligible through APC, NACC, ACPE or NAJC with ecclesiastical endorsement for health care ministry within two years.
Expertise and sensitivity to faith aspects of health and illness, especially as related to specific areas of responsibility.
Ability to provide spiritual care on an individual and group basis to achieve individual goals of care.
Ability to resolve issues.
Ability to use interpersonal skills and methods to reduce or eliminate conflict
Basic ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (navigate in Windows, Outlook, epic EHR, etc.).
Ability to provide counseling on an individual and group basis to achieve individual service plan goals. Ability to resolve issues. Ability to use interpersonal skills and methods to reduce or eliminate conflict.
Ability to identify, assess, understand, and cope with a serious situation, especially from the moment it first occurs to the point that recovery procedures start.
Skilled in developing effective rapport with customers, co-workers, or families, actively listening to develop a positive connection.
