Fairview Health Services Supervisor, Outpatient Behavioral Pro-Fee Services in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Overview

M Health Fairview is a leader in providing exceptional and innovative behavioral health care. This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical oversight for our team that serves patients with mental or behavioral health needs within the Behavioral Emergency Center (BEC) at M Health Fairview Riverside Hospital.

This role functions both as a program supervisor, as well as an interdisciplinary team member who provides services to our clients within their scope of practice. They are responsible for the day-to-day operations, including staffing, scheduling, efficiency, patient experience, performance, and quality assurance. This role leads quality improvement initiatives, hires and trains new team members, conducts performance reviews, and provides direct care. Clinical can include completing diagnostic or crisis assessments, applying evidence-based clinical interventions, facilitating therapy and providing education for patients and their families.

This is a full-time position that is located at University of Minnesota Medical Center - Riverside Campus.

Responsibilities Job Description

Supervises staff, including: hiring, orienting, coaching, evaluating and effectively managing performance to ensure delivery of high quality service to clients/customers.

Supervises the day to day operations of assigned program(s)

  • Promotes open and effective lines of communication within the work location and with other external sources.

  • Problem solves by anticipating program needs, formulating creative responses and strategies, initiating the needed interventions, and following through to resolution.

  • Devises processes to learn customers’ needs, adapts services to meet them, and responds to and resolves customer service concerns.

  • Develops and supervises new programs to meet customer needs.

Partners with Manager and/or Director to evaluate, develop, and revise clinical systems and to enhance clinical effectiveness as needed. Monitors and ensures regulatory compliance.

Demonstrates competence in developing a clinically relevant transition/discharge or treatment plan. Collaborates with patient and family, and provides input to interdisciplinary team in developing a discharge or treatment plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, clinical diagnosis, level of functioning and other relevant needs.

  • Promotes a culture of evidence-based practice by participation in any of, but not limited to, the following activities:

  • Utilizes evidence-based policies in clinical practice

  • Attends and participates in learning opportunities about evidence-based practice

  • Maintains membership in hospital or unit-based practice council/research council

  • Completes evidence-based practice project (e.g. policy development or poster presentation clinical initiatives)

  • Participates in journal club, journal article critique and circulation

  • Completes literature review

  • Develops standard/pathway/guideline for patient care

  • Give presentations

Responds to and participates in Behavior Control Situations (BCS) and CPR.

Provides clinical care as appropriate

  • Conducts diagnostic evaluation and documents assessment in medical record.

  • Develops an individualized treatment plan of care.

  • Collaborates with patients, family, and other colleagues to develop a treatment plan of care.

  • Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition, and other relevant needs.

  • Maintains required, appropriate, and timely communication and correspondence with treatment authorization and payer sources in a manner which promotes efficient and effective delivery of clinical services.

  • Organization Expectations, as applicable:• Completes System Credentialing for pro-fee billing• Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served

  • Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making.

  • Communicates in a respective manner.

  • Ensures a safe, secure environment.

  • Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs.

  • Modifies clinical interventions based on population served.

  • Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver.

  • Fulfills all organizational requirements

  • Completes all required learning relevant to the role

  • Complies with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures and standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

Education

• Master’s Degree In Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or closely related field

Experience

• 2 years post licensure experience in mental health and/or chemical dependency treatment experience

License/Certification/Registration

• LICSW, Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Marriage or Family Therapist (LMFT), or LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
