Fairview Health Services Specimen Processor/Phlebotomist in St. Paul, Minnesota
Performs accurate and timely entry of laboratory test requests. Operates the laboratory computer system and executes the computer job stream. Performs accurate and timely collection and/or processing of specimens in the section assigned.
This is a part-time, benefits eligible opportunity (0.8 FTE, 64 hrs/ pay period) to work days during the week (primarily 8:30am but need flexiblity to start between 4am and 9am) and four out of 12 weekends working overnight and on-call.
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements
Performs specimen processing and collection to ensure the accurate and appropriate performance of patient testing while maintaining patient dignity, comfort and confidentiality
Reviews, follows and understands established laboratory quality assurance and quality control procedures
Answers phones, supports and troubleshoots problems of clients and users
Recognizes, investigates and resolves unusual order(s) and test requests
Organizes work such that time deadlines are consistently met and is able to adjust work schedule in response to STAT or unusual requests, including expected turnaround times
Performs and documents maintenance and troubleshooting procedures on laboratory equipment
- Trade or vocational certification in Phlebotomy or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous phlebotomy experience
