Fairview Health Services Breast Imaging & Interventional Technologist - Flex in Woodbury, Minnesota

Overview

We have an immediate opening for a Breast Imaging & Interventional Technologist-Flex. In this flex position the Technologist will be traveling to other locations within our system to cover screening and diagnostic exams. This is a 0.8 FTE (64 hours/pay period) day shift position.

Responsibilities Job Description

The Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all of the members of the health care team.

Maintains patient care

  • Performs examinations

  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately

  • Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional

  • Participates in creating a culture of patient safety

  • Knowledge of emergency preparedness for facility

  • Verify patient identification and documentation and communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam

Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol

  • Ensures patient data integrity

  • Accurately completes computer functions; edits, scheduling, billing, status changes, and file jacket transfers in a timely fashion

  • Accurate film identification and jacket preparation or digital image manipulation and archiving

Participates as an active team member

  • Orients and mentors new employees and students

  • Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives

  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position

  • Cleans and maintains rooms and supplies and performs other duties as assigned

  • Accepts unique customer service expectations in Imaging

Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines

  • Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to Department guidelines

  • Accepts new technology as it is introduced into the facility

Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served

Qualifications

Required

A.R.R.T. (R)

A.R.R.T. (M) within 12 months

BLS -current and from American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Preferred

1 year in mammography
