Overview

Seeking dynamic Occupational Therapist to join the M Health Fairview Rehabilitation Services team! In collaboration with patients and families, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care within scope of practice. This includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, planning, intervention and establishing outcomes. In addition to delivering safe and effective patient care within scope of practice to primarily a pediatric population, preferred candidate will have experience in delivering feeding services and be open to developing Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) skill

  • FTE 0.8, authorized to work 64 hours per pay period

M Health Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.

Responsibilities Job Description

The Occupational Therapist partners with the patient and their care providers while performing evaluation and re-evaluation. Captures and applies pertinent data, performs examination, and resolves treatment diagnosis

Develops an individualized plan of care through coordination

Analyzes data to identify needs and potential risks, settles prognosis for recovery, and establishes individualized goals

Implements and modifies care plan based on reassessment and patient response

Coordinates care and communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team for all aspects care & establishes appropriate discharge plan

Partners with care team to provide skilled intervention

Implements and alters treatment to reflect change in patient status and response to treatment

Assesses patient and/or caregiver learning needs and provides appropriate education

Documentation/Billing

Uses acceptable medical terminology and follows professional practice standards.

Completes documentation in a timely manner per department standards

Stays in sync with department billing standards

Professional Expectations

Prioritizes tasks and patient care for effective time management.

Understands and follows professional licensure/certification requirements

Advises team members and/or supervises students as designated

Pursues professional development to support clinical standard processes

Quality Improvement

Crafting and implementing improvements, and participates in and supports entity/system initiatives

Qualifications

Required

  • Occupational Therapy Licensure in State of Minnesota or temporary license

  • Active Basic Life Support Certification

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy

  • 1+ year(s) of OT experience post graduation

  • Certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy

  • Experience assessing and treating children with feeding difficulties
