Fairview Health Services Casual Hand Therapist in Wyoming, Minnesota

Overview

Seeking casual OTR/L- Hand Therapist for support of volumes and PTO coverage for primary hand therapist at Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming MN location. General practice site for hand, wrist, elbow conditions. Work closely with local physicians and Physical Therapy team.

  • Casual hours, help pick up shifts for pre planned needs ahead of time and for last minute support, eligible to work up to 80 hours per pay period, pending patient volumes

  • Monday-Friday shifts, days

M Health Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.

Responsibilities Job Description

The hand therapist partners with the patient and their care providers while performing evaluation/re-evaluation

Gathers and applies pertinent data, performs examination, and resolves treatment diagnosis

Develops an individualized plan of care through coordination

Analyzes data to identify needs and potential risks, settles prognosis for recovery, and establishes individualized goals

Implements and modifies care plan based on reassessment and patient response

Coordinates care and communicates successfully with interdisciplinary team for all aspects care & establishes appropriate discharge plan

Partners care team to provide skilled intervention

Implements and alters treatment to reflect change in patient status and response to treatment

Assesses patient and/or caregiver learning needs and provides appropriate education

Professional Expectations

Prioritizes tasks and care for time management and accommodations

Understands and follows professional licensure/certification requirements

Advises team members and/or supervises students as designated

Pursues personal and professional development to support clinical standard processes

Qualifications

Required

  • Occupational Therapy Licensure in State of Minnesota or temporary license

  • Active Basic Life Support Certification

  • Minimum of 3 month Hand Therapy internship

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy

  • 2+ year(s) of OT experience post graduation

  • Certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
