Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU department at our M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center location in Wyoming, MN.

This role is a 0.6 FTE, 48 hours per pay period, 12 hour day shift, with an every third weekend rotation. About this Unit:

Do you have a special curiosity about acute care? If so, then look no further than our ICU department. Our facility is recognized for high patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and strong teamwork. This is a 10 bed unit with onsite hospitalist physician support. There is 24/7 Intensivist/Tele-ICU support provided through the M Health Fairview system. Our location also has free parking for employees!

Responsibilities Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Within our ICU, our Registered Nurses are responsible for caring for patients who have many different diagnoses including, but not limited to, sepsis, overdoses, withdrawals, and surgical patients who need a higher level of care. Our complex patients require continuous hemodynamic monitoring, intense medication management, ongoing critical thinking, and excellent communication with team members and families. This is a fast-paced and highly technical medical environment.

As an ICU RN, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes;

  • Developing an individualized nursing plan of care;

  • Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care;

  • Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes;

  • Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes;

  • Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate;

  • Demonstrating the ability to advance care by applying standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to improve patient outcomes;

  • Promoting a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities; and

  • Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Current MN RN Licensure in good standing

  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers)

  • ACLS within 6 months

  • RN acute care ICU experience, or one year current Medical/Surgical with telemetry experience as an RN in an acute care hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN degree

  • CCRN certification
